Time Travelling Art Course

About the course
This course combines art history, creative projects, and role-play.
By bringing different activities together around one theme, it offers a natural, engaging, and joyful way to learn.
Each journey fully immerses children in a historical period, bringing the past to life through imagination and creativity.

Course structure
This course is a series of time-travelling adventures through different historical periods.
We’ve explored Prehistoric Times, Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and Ancient Rome — next stop: Early Imperial China (from 16 June).
Each journey includes 5-6 sessions with map work, time machine play, art, costume-making, and role-play.

Session structure
Each session begins with looking at images and introducing a role-play story.
Children then create an art project inspired by the theme.
After that, they explore the world through gently guided, open-ended imaginative play.

Next Journey - Ancient Сhina (starting 16 June)
Our next journey is designed to last 5 sessions, adapting to the pace and interests of the children.
We’ll explore main art forms in Early Imperial China - calligraphy, strategy, painting, terracotta and architecture. We'll be learning about fashion, religion and everyday life through creative projects and role-play.
Children will paint, sculpt, create costumes, make collages and play one of the earliest strategy games in history.
